At Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists, our medical and surgical experts are available for more complex procedures, using the latest veterinary technology and practices.
Our specialist veterinarians offer a range of services, including imaging, endoscopy, chemotherapy, oncology, dermatology, surgery and more.
During your pet’s specialist consultation, a veterinarian will obtain a medical history and perform a thorough physical examination. They will then discuss their findings with you and advise you on the best method of treatment.
We offer specialist veterinary medical appointments during our regular business hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm – please call us on 02 9197 5800 to make your appointment
At Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists, we are ready to perform surgery at any time of day or night.
We can surgically treat cruciate ligament injuries, airway diseases, spinal disease and the associated paralysis, as well as soft tissue diseases of the bladder and liver or elsewhere.
We also perform animal oncology surgeries for cancer-afflicted animals. We are skilled at removing cancers that can require skin and muscle reconstruction after removal.
We understand many procedures can be difficult on both you and your pet. You can be assured that your pet is our absolute focus, with every procedure performed with the best interests of your as well as their health and wellbeing in mind.
Radiography, Ultrasound and Imaging
Our vet hospital is fully equipped with a modern digital X-ray system that provides high-quality images, with no need to wait. The radiographs we take can be interpreted immediately and help provide an immediate diagnosis for your pet. Our team includes veterinarians with specialist knowledge and experience in diagnostic imaging who can provide input on complex cases.
We also perform ultrasound examinations at our fully equipped animal hospital in Sydney’s Rose Bay.
Advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI scans are also available by appointment. We have specialist veterinary radiologists interpret and report on all advanced imaging studies to get the most accurate diagnosis for your pet.
Our endoscopy facility allows for a detailed examination of your pet’s upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and the respiratory tract. These examinations are particularly useful for the identification and subsequent removal of foreign bodies in the oesophagus and stomach.
Endoscopies also provide a non-invasive method of taking biopsies of some parts of the gastrointestinal tract.
Our animal hospital has a modern, well-equipped laboratory, allowing us to perform in-house blood and urine testing and provide results within minutes of collection.
We also utilise external veterinary and human laboratories to perform certain tests that are beyond the capacity of our own laboratory.
