Dr Beatriz Ogilvie

Emergency Veterinarian

BVSc PGDip MSi

Beatriz’s veterinary journey in Australia began in 2008 when she arrived to pursue a Master’s Degree at the University of Sydney, where she graduated with high distinction. After completing her studies, she passed the National Veterinary Examination, which enabled her to practice as a veterinarian in Australia.

Since then, Beatriz has honed her skills in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of the emergency department. With extensive experience working night shifts and collaborating closely with medicine, surgery and imaging specialists, she has become deeply passionate about emergency and critical care.

Her commitment to learning and advancing her expertise led Beatriz to complete a Graduate Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care from the University of Melbourne, where she graduated with honors. With over 10 years of experience at Sydney Emergency and Specialist, Beatriz has developed a strong focus on trauma, toxicology, and sepsis cases, striving to provide the highest standard of care to every patient she treats.

Beyond her professional life, Beatriz is an avid ultramarathon and trail runner, often found training around the picturesque northern beaches of Sydney. She is also a devoted animal lover, spending time with her family and her furry companions, which include two rescued dogs and two cats.

Beatriz brings not only her expertise but also her passion and compassion to every aspect of her work. Whether managing a critical case in the emergency department or enjoying life outdoors, her commitment to the well-being of animals shines through.
