James graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in 2012. Since that time, he has worked in small animal practice and preclinical research in Sydney, New Zealand and the United Kingdom with a particular focus on small animal surgery.
Prior to commencing his surgical residency, James completed a rotating internship (University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney, 2017), speciality surgical internship (Murdoch University, 2019) and a research fellowship (Surgical and Orthopaedic Research Laboratories UNSW and Prince of Wales Clinical School, 2020).
James became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery in 2017. He attained a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education at Murdoch University in 2019 and is passionate about veterinary student education. James enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, particularly, reconstructive surgery and neurosurgery. James has authored and co-authored scientific papers on a variety of subjects in small animal surgery, and preclinical research and has presented at local and national conferences.
Outside of the clinic, James enjoys all sports, namely cricket and golf, and anything to do with the ocean. There are no pets at home but plans for a Groodle and Burmese cat.
