Dr Elissa Kadar

Medicine Specialist

Elissa graduated from Sydney University with first class honours, after two years in private practice she moved to the USA to complete internships at Tufts University, Massachusetts and then an Internal Medicine Residency at University of California, Davis; becoming a registered specialist of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2005.

Elissa has worked in both University and private specialty practice since then, and currently combines specialist practice with consulting for a global diagnostic laboratory.  She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, including complex cases, liver and gastrointestinal disease, respiratory disease, immune and infectious diseases.

Elissa aspires to ongoing involvement in veterinary and one health research and loves to acquire new knowledge and skills in her field at conferences and workshops. The ability to collaborate with the other specialist team members at SVES to ensure the best outcome for patients is fantastic. She spends spare time with her family and friends, loves everything outdoors or nature related, and is passionate about the positive effects of pet ownership
