Courtney started veterinary nursing in 2016 after spending a number of years soul searching for her perfect career. She had worked in retail for some years, and had already tried her hand at journalism and creative writing. It was through a clichéd late night search on SEEK that she discovered the course for veterinary nursing, and hasn’t looked back since. She initially gained some hands-on experience volunteering at her local animal shelter before gaining full time employment at a nearby general practice veterinary clinic. She graduated her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing from Ultimo Tafe in 2018.
Courtney had been working in general practice for 3 years before considering expanding her knowledge and building on her skill set in specialist nursing.
Courtney works as part of the internal medicine department at SVES, which includes nursing a variety of interesting and complex illnesses such as kidney disease, immune mediated blood diseases, diabetes, neurological diseases and gastrointestinal illnesses just to name a few.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys playing netball, listening to live music, reading and walking her dog.
