Catherine grew up in the coastal town of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She has always had a love for animals and in 2005 she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse at Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in Pretoria. After working at a charity Veterinary clinic in Port Elizabeth, she moved to London to work and travel where she ended up staying for 8 years.
Wanting to expand her skills further, Catherine completed the Vets Now Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care in 2014 and passed with distinctions.
After living and working in various hospitals around London, she moved to Sydney in October 2015 with her husband and their adopted street cat, Gary.
Catherine joined the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Sydney as an ECC nurse in December 2015, then did a stint in General Practice for a few years and has now rejoined life as an Emergency Nurse at SVES.
When she is not at work she enjoys baking, diving, exploring Sydney and its beautiful beaches with her husband and is on a never-ending quest to find the best coffee Australia has to offer.
